The New Home Buyer Protection Act applies to new homes built after February 1, 2014, including single-family homes, duplexes, multi-family homes, condos, manufactured homes, and recreational properties. It does not cover dorms, work camps, hotels, or rental apartments. The minimum warranty coverage is 1 year for labor and materials, 2 years for delivery and distribution systems, 5 years for building envelope, and 10 years for major structural issues.
